I am a passionate, enthusiastic teacher with 13 years experience in Primary, Secondary, Post-16 and SEN. I take a pupil-centred approach which helps my students make excellent, rapid progress. In the classroom, I’ve helped learners make 58 months of progress in their Maths, 49 months of progress in their comprehension, 45 months of progress in their spelling and 43 months of progress in their reading, all in just 10 months.
I have been tutoring since 2016 and established my own private business in 2022.

Tutoring Experience

I have 11 years classroom teaching experience and have been tutoring for 8 years.

I have experience of teaching children with a wide range of needs: ASC, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, SPLD, ODD, GDD, poor working memory, schizophrenia and EAL.

I am working towards a Level 3 Accreditation in Dyslexia support with The British Dyslexia Association.

I have worked at 3 Outstanding Secondary Schools in Birmingham and Solihull and 2 Good schools in Warwickshire.

I was trained in and worked as an RE teacher, working with 11-19 year olds.

I have worked as a Key Stage 2 intervention teacher, working on a one-to-one and small group basis with 7-11 year olds.

I have taught a combined Year 3 and 4 class.

I have worked as a whole school Literacy Coordinater.

Tutoring Approach

I am flexible in tutoring and will do my best to accommodate clients. My skills set is broad and varied so I can adapt to what my students need and will deliver a bespoke curriculum in the comfort of their own home (my only requirement is that there is always an adult over the age of 18 in the pupil’s home whilst a session takes place).
