Hi, my name's Chris, I studied Maths and Astrophysics at Cambridge before going on to study Science Communication at Imperial. I've spent the last 6 years working on science documentaries including Universe with Brian Cox and Secret Genius of Modern Life. Communicating Science and Maths has always been my passion and now I'm hoping to do it in a more direct way through tutoring.
While my tuition experience is limited, I do have a strong background in communicating science. My work in TV has required me to find ways of taking often complex scientific topics like Thermodynamics or the Theory of Relativity and communicate them in an accurate and entertaining way.
From personal experience I know that education is most effective when it suits the learner, so understanding and catering for the pupils needs is my top priority. I also think it's important to understand not just how to do someting but why we're doing it, and I find particulalry in Maths it's the lack of understanding of 'why' that makes the subject so difficult for people
