I was a maths teacher for four years teaching 11-18 across the range of abilities. Currently working as a specialist maths intervention tutor in a local high school. I have a strong background in mathematics, computing and sciences with experience of hundreds of hours of one-to-one tutoring.

I have been tutoring mathematics for a long time, including high level mechanics and statistics subjects. I can quickly and concisely cover all pure topics on the current scheme to a high standard.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught Key Stage 3 to 5, preparing classes for both higher and foundation tier GCSE on multiple exam boards. I have experience working with those with special educational needs or English as an additional language, as well as extending learning for high attaining pupils. I am proficient in tutoring A-level modules in Pure, Further Pure, Statistics and Mechanics, along with Decision modules for Further maths.

Tutoring Approach

I work with pupils to best ascertain their current learning needs, discussing where they would like to be and over what time frame. Generally my pupils describe me as relaxed and approachable as I enjoy the subject I offer. I am patient and able to answer any subject specialist question, developing understanding of the key concepts and highlighting common exam questions approaches. Using the one-on-one dialogue you don't get in a classroom, I personalise the learning for the pupils and develop learning activities that help the pupil achieve their full potential.
