Following on from my degree at Leeds College of Music, I am currently studying for my Masters in Music at the University of York where I receive expert tuition from professionals in the field of performance which I pass on to all of my students. After receiving distinctions in all of my recitals I have been offered an Unconditional placement at the University to study for my Ph.D, which I will begin in October this year.
I have taught piano privately for two years to a wide age range of students focusing on many genres of music including Pop, Musical Theatre and, Classical. I also work as an accompanist and coach for singers and instrumentalists. My work as a pianist has given me incredible opportunities to perform at prestigious venues around the country and abroad, including Leeds Town Hall as part of the Leeds Lieder Festival, York Minster performing in Britten's St. Nicolas, and I was invited to play in Berkvara, Sweden as part of a series of concerts in August 2018.
My goal with every student is to help them find their passion for music no matter what level they're at. Music has given my life so much joy, I feel it is my duty to help someone else find that happiness.
My teaching style is tailored to each student, for example, some students respond better to demonstrations of correcting issues, others prefer to have me explain how to tackle a difficult phrase. In any circumstance, I always strive to make my lessons fun and enjoyable as well as interesting and rewarding. Happiness comes first when learning music!
