Christopher

I am 30 years old. I currently work as an Assistant Paediatric Neuropsychologist at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. My role involves supporting children and young people with acquired brain injuries as they return to education, as well as delivering neuropsychological assessments. I’m passionate about helping young people reach their full potential both in school and in life. Originally from Bristol, I spent six years in California where I studied at university on a tennis scholarship and worked as a tennis coach and sport psychologist. Outside of work, I enjoy running, tennis, golf, and long walks in nature—but I also appreciate a relaxed evening with a good film or series.

Tutoring Experience

I have a diverse background in applied psychology across clinical and academic settings. I previously worked in California as a sport psychologist for a university men’s tennis team, supporting athletes’ mental performance and wellbeing. I currently work as an Assistant Neuropsychologist within a paediatric brain rehabilitation team and on a European clinical trial for children and young people with ependymoma. As part of this role, I have delivered teaching to third year university students on the role of neuropsychology in cancer care. My previous roles also include working as a Clinical Support Worker and a Children’s Clinical Research Practitioner, further strengthening my understanding of both frontline clinical care and research environments.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is person centred and collaborative. I start with understanding each pupil’s individual goals and building on their strengths. I aim to create a relaxed, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment. It is important to make students feel comfortable and motivated. Creating a relationship with each pupil is key to enhancing both their learning experience and overall confidence.
