A super start. My daughter has had only 3 sessions so far and is already feeling better. She is definitely more confident about her GCSEs at the end of this school year. She came off her first session and announced. ‘Phew, I think I am going to be ok now!’Fingers crossed.

Claire was instrumental in securing passes in English Language and Literature GCSEs for my reluctant so he could take his chosen college courses. She is extremely patient, reliable and professional.

There are 2 words to describe Claire:’Absolutely Brilliant!’
Claire has tutored my son for 2 years and we have seen such an improvement. Each lesson is well structured and planned. My son was not a keen student for English/English Lit, however, Claire has changed my son’s opinion on English/English Lit.
His grades have improved and he is doing well.
If anyone is looking for a GCSE English tutor, Claire is is definitely the tutor for you!!!

Fantastic tutor

We were looking for a tutor for our 14 year old for help and to prepare for his Upcoming GCSE exams,
Our Son was not best pleased on hearing that he had an online tutor!
However after the first lesson he connected well with Clare,
He Is definitely more confident in his approach and attitude to English,
And after a few lessons he now says he actually enjoys his lesson with Clare.
We are very happy with his progress so far
And are pleased we found Clare.

Claire is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. My daughter instantly connected with her and I could tell she was comfortable to work with her. After my daughters lessons she is always pleased with her achievements and enjoys sharing them with me which is lovely as she had no confidence in her English work before. I highly recommend Claire as an English tutor.

We contacted Claire as our 15 year old daughter needed extra help in preparation for her GCSE English, her knowledge, support, expertise and patience is unquestionably helping our daughter immensely and she has gained so much confidence since working with Claire - she now looks forward to her English lessons and has even applied to take English at A level!

If you are looking for an English tutor for your son / daughter, in our opinion you will not find better.

My children (twins), have been studying GCSE English Language with Claire since year 10. She is an excellent tutor who knows the subject well and puts a lot of effort into the resources she uses. The children enjoy their sessions with Claire as she engages well with them and they have seen their grades go up from 5 to high 6 and low 7. I would thoroughly recommend Claire as a tutor.

Patient tution. My son found it really useful and felt more confident with the subject.

I was looking for an English tutor for my daughter to help with her GCSEs, didn't know where to start looking. I came across First Tutors online, it seemed really easy to nagivate the site and you can look for tutors in your area, this site offers a really good detailed profile about the tutors themselves and you can choose to suit your circumstances. You then get replies from tutors through the site all confidential and you can look through and then make contact through the site to find out if the day and time is available and you can also see before contact if the tutor is willing to travel to your home of if they only teach at their home. You can see online their credentials and checks but it would be worth asking to see these on your first lesson.
I found the tutor that I chose was really professional in her approach to my inquiry although we haven't had a lesson yes I feel I have confidence in the process.
I like the idea that if you are not entirely happy that First Tutors will help you in any aspect that concerns you.

My daughter has now had tuition with Claire in preparation for her English GCSE Language and Literature. Her results say it all she jumped up to a 8 in Language from a 5 and her Literature was a 6 which is currently being re-marked by the exam board as she was 2 marks off a 7.
Claire is a truly lovely teacher who comes very well prepared to each lesson, she has great knowledge and worked equally as hard as my daughter did during her visits.
I would greatly recommend this teacher to anyone looking for help with English.

Although it is early days (We have seen Claire three times so far) l am more than happy to recommend this lady.Claire has been punctual, polite and very personable. She has been able to relate to my very reluctant son and l have had nothing but positive comments from him about the tutoring.
