Tutoring Experience

I have taught children from Year 1 to Year 8 and I have been Head of Maths, Head of English, Head of Year 4 and Year 6 and a leading maths teacher in West Sussex.
I have completed a SEN Advanced Level 5 course which has given me a deeper understanding and practical experience of working with children with varying needs of support and I have a wealth of experience of working with children with dyslexia and dyscalculia

Tutoring Approach

I am offering tuition to primary aged children in maths and English. These sessions are designed to help secure basic number facts; develop an understanding of place value; support the learning of times tables or gain confidence in the use of written methods. It may be an opportunity to develop strategies to support spelling; secure use of punctuation or other grammatical features or develop general reading and writing skills.
My aim is to quickly establish a positive relationship with your child that helps them develop and learn and therefore help grow their self-confidence and independence as a learner.
Tutoring is available as a complement to your child's school education, as an extra element for those that are home-schooled or I am happy to work with parents or guardians who have decided to home educate their child.
