Claude

I am a qualified mathematics teacher/tutor. My qualifications include: Bachelor of Science (Hons), Post-Graduate Diploma in Education and Post-Graduate Diploma in Computing.

I specialize in A-level Pure (Core) Maths, Further Maths, Mechanics, Statistics, Decision Maths and Numerical Methods, covering Hertfordshire and North London (for face-to-face tuition).

I also provide online tuition via Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, locally within the U.K. and internationally. My international assignments include students from Hong-Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Central Asia, the Middle East along with students from many countries on Continental Europe.

On the behalf of sixth form Colleges and National Course Providers, I run revision courses for A-level mathematics and further mathematics (years 12 and 13) and also for mathematics under the International Baccalaureate qualification. The courses take place in Oxford and South East England, including central London and run during the Christmas, Easter, term breaks as well as August each year, in the form of a summer school.

In conjunction with the revision courses, I also deliver one-day A-level refresher courses to local schools, known as ‘Intervention Days’, during term.

I have also taught AS/A2 Further Mathematics in schools throughout Hertfordshire and have also been involved in the training of teachers in A-level Mathematics.

My recent results for private tuition include: a student home-schooled for two years in A-level mathematics, achieving an A* grade overall (89% avg.), after initially obtaining an AS mathematics grade of ‘U’ (unclassified, 23% avg.) at his last school. Another student improved under tuition by increasing his mark from 64% (C) to 84% (A), receiving an award for “Outstanding Mathematical Achievement” from his school.

For non A-level mathematics, I have tutored the CIE IGCSE Additional Mathematics qualification and the level 2 Further Mathematics qualification from the AQA examination board. I have also tutored a student from Paris in their final year of the French Baccalaureate (mathematics).

I can also provide tuition for entrance exams (AEA, STEP, MAT, TMUA) to Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, Warwick universities etc.

Small class tuition in AS/A2 maths (e.g. revision courses, exam preparation) can also be arranged, if required.

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status- England) and Enhanced Disclosure certificates can be supplied on request.

Contact details for referees and copies of testimonials can also be supplied on request.

My normal availability : weekdays, afternoons and evenings.

If necessary, when approaching the summer examination period, morning and week-end sessions might be possible.

Please note that I do not tutor from my own home, except for online tuition. All face-to-face sessions are conducted at the student's home or at their preferred place of study.
