I am a dedicated and experienced science teacher with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential. I graduated from the University of Edinburgh and have been teaching since 2006. Throughout my career, I have consistently been recognised for my calm, patient and nurturing approach, which allows students to build confidence and thrive in their studies.
With nearly two decades of classroom experience, I have taught science across a range of settings and age groups, specialising in GCSE Science and A Level Chemistry. I have held several leadership positions within schools, which have deepened my understanding of both curriculum development and effective pastoral care. I have also worked as an examiner for AQA, giving me valuable insight into exam board expectations and how best to support students in preparing for assessments.
My teaching style is supportive, tailored and methodical. I believe in creating a positive, stress-free learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning journey. I take pride in explaining complex scientific concepts in a clear and accessible way, adapting my methods to suit each student’s individual needs. My aim is always to build understanding, boost confidence and foster a genuine interest in science.
