I'm a recent Oxford University graduate with over 6 years of tutoring experience, and am currently undertaking my MA in development studies. I am very friendly, and focus on building strong learning-focused relationships with each of my students, to get them fired up about their subject, and personalist each session to every young person/child's individual needs and interests.
I have tutored many students in a wide range of subjects including (but not limited to): 11+, English as an Additional Language (adults and children), A-levels, GCSE's (and am a particular expert in the AQA exam board), IB, AP, ELAT, HAT, Oxbridge admissions (from subject exploration to interview prep), and critical thinking, English, and history for KS2-KS5 students.
I studied History and English (joint honours) at university. Before that I studied English (A*), History (A), & Philsophy and Ethics (A*) at A level, and prior to that I gained all A*'s for my 10 GCSE's. I did well by learning lots about the exam boards and what they were looking for (their Assessment Objectives), and when tutoring GCSE, A level, and 11+ students I prioritize this approach for the best exam results.
Every session is adapted to the needs of my students. I am happy to schedule in a free 15 minute meeting to discuss the particular needs of a student before our first session, in order to ensure I am helping them reach their goals in the most supportive way.
I am very friendly, and love talking about a range of subjects (from English to French to History) and topics (from 20th Century American history to medieval European history, and more!). I look forward to helping you understand your subject better, and having interesting conversations about your work.
