I am an experienced tutor and have helped several students acquire higher grades in their Philosophy, Religious Studies, Politics, and History A-Levels.
I am currently a 4th year PhD student, researching "The Philosophy of Biodiversity Conservation" at The University of Leeds, and have gained experience throughout my PhD of teaching at the undergraduate level.
I have a masters with distinction and a first in my undergraduate degree, both in Philosophy at Leeds University. I attained three A*s in my A-Levels (History, Politics and Religious Studies)
I have 3 years of private tutoring experience which I attained before beginning my PhD. I also have taught and lectured on undergraduate university modules during my PhD at the University of Leeds, including: "Great Philosophical Thinkers", "Introduction to Philosophy of Science" and "Philosophy of Technology".
I am a friendly and patient yet focused teacher, with a huge enthusiasm for learning and a broad knowledge of the subjects. I have particular expertise in Philosophy, Ethics, Philosophy of Religion, and Political Philosophy/Ideologies. However, I am familiar with all the A-level curriculum for Religious Studies, Philosophy, Politics, and History.
The key to success in these essay-based subjects is to coherently and persuasively put forward an argument that answers the specific question set by the examiner. For this reason, my lesson plans focus on essay writing techniques. These techniques will allow students to apply their knowledge of the subject in a way that achieves higher marks and grades.
