Hi there,
My name is Danielle Removed (Dani), to give you a little information about me: I am an Assistant Professor at a Russell Group University where I have been teaching for the past seven years. I have a PhD specialising in Organic Chemistry where I was making naturally derived, anti-inflammatory compounds that were bio-tested for use as medicines for chronic inflammatory diseases. I find myself not in the lab so much anymore though (unless I am teaching!), as I found my passion in teaching rather than research. I am currently living in Warwick.
I am really keen to pass on my enthusiasm for the subjects; there are so many amazing things to learn in Science, and if you find it boring then I know that something must be going wrong!
I have experience teaching all major A Level and GCSE Chemistry specifications.
I tend to do most of my tutoring at the tutees address. Depending on distance from Warwick, I may ask for a little extra to cover fuel costs.
I have been tutoring for around 6 years and have had the pleasure to help many student achieve the grades needed to make the next step in their academic journey. I have experience teaching in lectures, labs, workshops and tutorials. I won a teaching award three years ago and was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in the same year. I also enjoy science communication and outreach and have given experiment demonstrations and talks in primary and secondary schools and have co-led a national project to encourage more girls to get into Chemistry!
I have experience teaching GCSE Chemistry AQA, Edexcel, and IGCSE Pearson Edexcel. GCSE combined science Edexcel and AQA.
I have also taught IB Chemistry, AQA, Edexcel and OCR A, A level Chemistry.
I believe that with the right guidance, every student can reach their potential and achieve their goals. When you begin lessons with me, we will spend the first lesson determining what it is exactly that you need help with and what your goals are so that I can plan our lessons from that point onwards. I say this a lot to my students, but I believe there are no stupid questions in the learning process. So, I do my best to create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable and able to ask me questions they may feel unsure of raising in a large classroom environment. If you’re interested in Chemistry tutoring - do get in touch so we can discuss the best support I can offer.
