Hey there! I am a 4th year PhD Candidate in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge. I previously graduated with a first class honours degree in Biotechnology from University College Cork, Ireland. I currently work in plant sciences, with a particular focus on enzymology and the plant cell wall. I love all things natural sciences and have a broad knowledge of topics related to the biological sciences in particular. If you need some help with Biology or Chemistry (GCSE/A Level) I am here to help! See link https://bbsrcdtp.lifesci.cam.ac.uk/staff/darragh-kelleher
My undergraduate degree focused on the fundamentals of biochemistry/ biotechnology so I have a diverse range of knowledge when it comes to the life sciences. I can easily adapt my knowledge and experience to help you with any biology/chemistry related topic. Over the last four years I have spent countless hours as a scientific demonstrator for Undergraduate students. This spanned from a variety of life science courses to undergraduate medicine and veterinary students. I did quite a lot of tutoring for Junior Cert ( Irish equivalent of GCSE) and Leaving Cert ( Irish equivalent of A levels) in science subjects.
I am quite flexible. Students have different abilities and needs which require tailored approaches. I first meet the student where I ask what their ultimate goals are and what they need most help with. In a given week we will focus on the fundamentals of a topic alongside some problem sets and prior exam questions. Understanding the fundamentals and tailoring this to exam success is key.
