I am qualified and practising UK solicitor with over 30 years experience working in private, commercial practice in London. For 10 of those years, I was the senior partner of London law firm. Over my decades work in the legal sector I have acted on commercial contracts, company matters, litigation, dispute resolution, finance, banking, investment and intellectual property. More recently, my focus has turned to teaching and editing, with an emphasis on teaching legal and business English to non-native speaking lawyers and business executives.

As well as being a qualified solicitor, I also have a TEFL (Advanced) certificate and I am recognised by TOLES as a School of Legal English.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching legal and business English to non-native speaking lawyers, business executive and students, mostly in schools outside of the UK. In addition, I have been teaching private students at my home or my office and I have spent the last year teaching online to students from all over the world.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching method is patient and friendly. I understand that learning at higher levels can be gruelling and I do everything within my power to make this experience both effective and enjoyable. I have a wealth of hands-on experience that I wish to pass on to my students.

I not only teach the basics of grammar, vocabulary and structure but also the higher legal and business English that will enable my students to take their careers up to the next level. In addition, I spend time with my students helping them with notoriously difficult aspects such as phrasal verbs, prepositions, synonyms, collocations and correct and effective pronunciation.

It is my mission to teach my students the mechanics of the English language but also the concepts and thinking that underpin the language.

I offer 75% off your first lesson, so you only pay for 15 minutes but receive 60 minutes. If you want to book more lesson then I encourage my students to take advantage of concession rates and book a block of lessons.
