I have just graduated from Cambridge and am currently taking a gap year before completing a Master's degree in the philosophy of economics. During my degree I have studied Maths and Physics to a high level, and have taken modules in Chemistry, Earth Sciences and History and Philosophy of Science. I have expertise in not only STEM subjects, but in essay writing and critical analysis. I can therefore tutor Maths, Physics and Chemistry at most levels, and can tutor of Oxbridge or other entrance exams (such as the Natural Sciences Admissions Assessment, Physical Aptitude Tests and Mathematical Aptitude Tests)
I have previously worked as a part time swimming teacher for 4 years, where I worked with children from ages 3-17. I have also volunteered at my local primary school for a year, delivering one-on-one tuition in subjects from history to maths. I therefore have extensive experience in planning and delivering lessons tailored to the student's needs and requirements. I have taught English full time for a month in Hong Kong to students of all ages. I am also an Oxbridge graduate, and can guide any applicants for STEM (especially Natural Sciences) throughout the entire process, including interview practice.
My teaching approach varies from student to student. For some, I find that by spending time going back over the basics of any subject can help develop an intuition for the subject. This allows them to access more advanced problems without having to wrote-learn methodologies for solving very specific problems, but by understanding the problem and how a solution works.
I am also good at pushing students to perform well at the high end of grading bell-curves, allowing them to pursue more interesting and demanding problems to further and apply their knowledge and understanding.
