We engaged David to help my daughter Emma with her Junior Cycle maths in April 2024. Emma’s dyslexic, and at times, finds some Maths challenging. In my dealings with David, I have found him to be very professional; he responds quickly to e-mails and texts and if days or times need to change, he has always been very accommodating.

A few words from my daughter below might help describe Emma’s experience over the course of a few months with David.

“David is an amazing tutor, I worked with him from after the Easter break up to the Junior Cycle exam. We did a mix o**Contact Detail Removed** and state exam questions and the practice I got really helped on the day of the exam. He takes time to go through the questions with me and encouraged me to ask questions. If I struggled with a maths chapter, he would explain it again and we’d do a lot of questions on that chapter, not moving on ‘til I understood it. I also found his notes to be very helpful when studying by myself. David was always patient with me and without his help, I would have been very lost and worried about the exam. I’d recommend David to my classmates if they needed a tutor”.

Going forward, we intend on having David continue to tutor Emma, even through transition year, once a week.

David has been a wonderful teacher to my daughter. Having him as a tutor has helped her improve her maths skills and gain confidence. As well as achieving A* marks in her exams! He is a very patient and engaging teacher who is willing to assist in any area of your request.

I’ve been working with David for a few weeks now.I am a 5th year student doing higher level maths.He’s
an excellent teacher!I could learn so much in just an hour.His teaching style allows me to go at my own pace.I found that I was able to move on from a topic much faster than if I was just leaning it in class even though I only have a lesson with him once a week.He goes through many different types of questions that could potentially come up and so once I go and practice I realise he’d already gone through them with me.This makes revision so much easier and I’m not as worried about maths as a subject anymore.

It is a real pleasure working with you. I can see that you are very enthusiastic and really apply yourself in these sessions and therefore the progress you make is primarily down to you. I am delighted that you enjoy the sessions and gain so much from them.

David has been helping my daughter improve her maths skills and to increase her confidence. He has done a fantastic job. He is very knowledgeable and works through questions during his lessons with her to improve her understanding.
She’s more excited about learning since David started teaching her.

David is a conscientious teacher who is able to explain knowledge clearly and guide his student through mathematical problems. He usually gives feedback to students on their notes after the lesson. My boy loved his lessons.

David provided extra tutoring for my son earlier this year for his Higher Level Leaving Certificate Maths, and we were very impressed with his tuition. My son actually commented that he had gained more from the 20 or so sessions undertaken with David, than in his 6 years within secondary school. David provides top-notch tuition that is thorough and meaningful, covering points that are often not explained thoroughly in the classroom. Added to this David has a wealth of knowledge, not only of the key topics but also in terms of marking and what an examiner will seek in terms of points acquisition.

My son Luke has had three Maths tutoring sessions with David. To date David has simplified topics which were proving problematic for Luke and his tutoring has embedded these and increased Luke's understanding of the basis of the topics. David has also managed to create a link to other subjects thereby assisting Luke in these subjects also. We are really happy with Luke's progress and with David's professionalism and believe that Luke will achieve his objective in obtaining a good result in higher level Maths.

David has been working with my daughter in preparation for her Junior Certificate. My daughter enjoys her sessions with David and is making very good progress. David is patient and gives clear instruction. His positive and encouraging approach is very motivating.

David sends notes from each session directly to my daughter after each session and updates me with her progress also.

David is an excellent tutor, we’ve been working together for a few weeks now and he’s helped me become more confident with maths. He’s extremely accommodating with times and days for classes and always tries his best to find a suitable time for the both of us. David always breaks down the topic at hand in a very simple and understandable help so you really know what it is you’re doing. Overall, he is a brilliant tutor and his classes have helped me immensely.
