I am skilled at teaching reading and phonics, writing and maths and any area of the primary curriculum. I am very patient, understanding and kind. I make learning fun and give lots of support and encouragement. I can help children who have slipped behind or who need particular support due to an SEND need. I can really help children who lack confidence and self esteem, to boost their confidence and motivate them to learn. I am particularly skilled with younger children, keeping them engaged and interested.
I will make an initial assessment of needs and plan a comprehensive schedule of lessons which address any needs that the child has. I will work together with parents to assess where the child currently is on their learning journey and then set aims for development. I ensure that lessons are fun and engaging and give feedback at the end of each lesson.

I have over 20 years experience teaching in primary school. I also have many years experience as a personal tutor.

Tutoring Approach

I have many fun and interesting resources to use and also take the child's needs and wishes into account- asking about their interests and aims and taking these into account for each lesson.
