I am an experienced tutor who believes in learning rather than memorising. Everyone has their own way of understanding different topics and it is my responsibility to communicate with students in a way that suits their learning style.
I assess students to identify their weaknesses early on and encourage independence and responsibility for their own learning.
I also provide help sheets, explain new methods and keep an online tracker that allows you to monitor what is being taught and how your child is progressing.
(I provide extra method sheets, online support, topic checklists and I mark exam papers for students taking SATs, GCSEs or A Levels)
SCHOOL EXPERIENCE:
I worked as a teacher for 3 years in an academy teaching A Level Economics and Math GCSE.
TUTORING EXPERIENCE:
I have been tutoring for 13 years and have helped many through their SATS, GCSEs and A Levels.
Most students are able to retain information but crack under exam pressure. In some cases exam questions are written so strangely that students don't always understand what is required of them: there are logical ways to approach all questions and this is something we will focus on.
