I have been a full time teacher since 2002. I am currently employed as a Head of Science; this is the third time that I have held this role. Each time, I have enjoyed considerable success in improving the grades of students so that they exceeded their own expectations.
I have taught all three science disciplines to students aged 11 to 18.
I am a current Head of Science who has enjoyed considerable success in substantially improving students grades. I specialise in improving students' grades. For example, in the last academic year many of my students improved their grade by 3 or more whole grades (e.g. grade 4-4 to 8-8).
I am also an examiner for AQA.
I believe that clear explanations and ensuring that students understand those explanations is at the heart of success. I tend to ask lots of questions to check understanding before asking students to apply their knowledge.
