Diana has helped our sons overall confidence in his abilities and worked through areas where he was missing the maths skills or understanding to apply to the process properly. Before seeing Diana his maths assessments at school were coming back as inconsistent however now he has just received a praise certificate in maths and recently achieved 92% in a recent maths test. We have only just started with Diana but our experience so far has been very good. Diana has been very responsive to messages regarding what we're looking for and setting up sessions; Diana has taken time to find out what it is we want to achieve. Diana seems genuinely interested in understanding what we want to achieve and tailors her approach to suit the student and parent (student and parent's aspirations not always the same!). My son enjoyed his first session and I'm hoping it is the start of a fruitful working relationship.

Relatively slow to communicate. Paid tutor introduction fee to release her contact details but did not take any lessons because she suggested that finding someone else might be a better idea. I have given three star for at least being honest to say that she might not have necessary experience/knowledge to proceed with tutoring.

I am very sorry not to have been able to help Karna further with her tuition request and that she has been dissatisfied with the service I have provided.

As I am very busy tutoring, now term time has started, clearly my existing students must take priority. Occasionally this means any new enquiries need to wait a little longer for me to get the chance to reply to them. I will always do my best to ensure existing students get the best service I can offer them even if that means I miss a potential new student if another tutor replies to them more quickly.

I always try to ask lots of questions through the First Tutors website before asking a potential student to pay the introduction fee as this is the best way to make sure we are the best fit for each other. In this instance Karna did not reply to all my questions instead saying she wanted us to have a chat before our first lesson. The only way to arrange this is by paying the introduction fee. Only once this had happened did she tell me she wanted me to teach her son the Further Maths A-Level syllabus. She had not mentioned this at any point before then. I told her I would be happy to try to help but that I had not taught this syllabus before and suggested to her that a different tutor with previous experience at that level may be better.

I have leant from this experience that I must make sure I have answers to more questions before accepting a student and am very sorry to have wasted Karna's time and money

Diana has been, and remains, a brilliant tutor for our daughter. She gives our daughter confidence to tackle the subject whereas previously maths was a scary proposition. I would recommend Diana to anyone.

My daughter was in need of a little help with maths - thank goodness we found Diana! What grabbed my attention was not only her experience as a teacher, but her love for maths clearly shown in her commitment to a university degree. My daughter’s confidence with Maths is an issue and Diana has sensitively addressed this whilst building on her understanding. My daughter finds her patient and relaxed. She enjoys the hour and feels more positive about maths every session. Definitely recommend a trial session.

Diana uses various resources and lessons can vary in terms of the approach. She is very approachable and really seems to engage well with him.
