My name is Donald, I've been an experienced Mathematics private tutor since 2017. I left teaching in 2017, at a good school, with the intention of focusing on one-to-one intuition. I'm a passionate mathematician with a Masters in Maths from Queen Mary university of London. My strongest fields are Algebra, pure (core) and Geometry and I'm very apt in Statistics and Mechanics. Currently, I am also a mentor coordinator, linking local professionals with students from my local school for 1-1 meetings about careers and further education.
REVIEWS: I have only recently been asking students for feedback in terms of reviews. As most of my students have been acquired outside of this site, they cannot leave reviews here. However, they have left reviews on my Removed
"My daughter was predicted a very low score in Maths but under Donald's tutorage, she thrived and started enjoying maths. She received an excellent 7 and is going on to take maths as one of her subjects in A'level's. Donald is very patient, diligent and passionate about he's work. I highly recommend him."
"Donald is a very nice and patient teacher, he is willing to go over things as many times as needed. He helped my daughter to achieve a high grade for my maths gcse ."

I taught Mathematics at Oasis Academy Silvertown and worked as a Learning Support Assistant there too with a focus of Maths. During this time I've worked one-to-one with students ranging in ability and I've seen their grades improve. I've also done group work with lower prior attainers in the same school and private tuition with both an adult and a GCSE student independently from work. Just to update, I am now 6 years into being a tutor and have seen a number students attain their targets or higher.
Typically I would assess where a student is at before working on specific areas. The first session will consist of exam style questions and this will help me plan a scheme of work. After a number of sessions we will look at another set of exam questions to assess where the student is at. I've got textbooks and access to websites which are very useful resources and I do set small pieces of homework, to summarise learning or prepare for the next session.
