I have recently retired after 15 years teaching Mathematics. I have a degree from Cambridge in the subject as well as a PGCE. I enjoy seeing students deepen their mathematical understanding and would like to use my skills to do some tutoring. As well as teaching Maths, I enjoy walking, gardening and meeting people.

Tutoring Experience

15 years teaching A level Maths and Further Maths, as well as GCSE and various BTEC and HND qualifications. At my latest school I have had responsibility for students wishing to take more advanced STEP, MAT and AEA exams and developing an enrichment programme for the Further mathematicians

Tutoring Approach

Develop the students' thinking skills and encourage independent practice at home. This is done by observing the student's problem-solving approach, clarifying misconceptions and providing more exercises.
