I graduated from Oxford with a First in History in 2021, coming in the top-ten students of my entire year. English has always been a passion of mine; at GCSE and A-Level I scored near perfect grades in English, and scored a First for my dissertation which was a History-English crossover. While at Oxford I won the Julia Woods Essay Writing Prize (2017), gained an 'Exhibition' for academic excellence (2020) and was finally rewarded the 'Principal's Prize' for my performance in my final exams (2021).
Alongside giving my students confidence, and teaching them how to nail their exams, I passionately hope that at the end of our time together students will have a newfound and lasting enjoyment of English.
I've taught English for a total of 50 hours on platforms such as TutorHunt, U2 Tuition and also privately to local friends. I'm extremely hard-working and passionate, and put a large amount of time into learning the syllabus and preparing materials for students. I hope to share the excitement and energy of English with my students.
I have a clear approach to teaching English at 11+, 13, and GCSE, and am able to offer students a wide range of support . The main areas I help with are; poetry analysis, comprehension, set text analysis, creative writing and exam technique. I do this through various exercises, such as past paper planning and mapping out key set text themes.
