I am an experienced, qualified and enthusiastic teacher with a Doctorate and MA in Education, together with a BSc (Hons.) degree. I am a current Examiner of GCSE and A-Level Chemistry and am Head of Department at a successful Secondary school. I have a passion for education and helping students to achieve their potential and have an excellent track of success with my students.
I prefer to tutor from home, as I have a vast number of resources at my disposal.
I have 20 years' experience of teaching students of all abilities. I teach from KS3 right through to A-Level. I am absolutely committed to my students achieving the best possible results, building their confidence in their own abilities.
I find ways of helping my students to work through barriers, where they exist, using a variety of different approaches. I have many resources, which I will tailor to an individual student's specific needs. I will initially assess where a student is in terms of their understanding and rapidly build on this, tracking their progress over time. As an examiner,I have an insight into examination processes and the specific requirements of exam technique; I integrate exam. technique into my teaching of GCSE and A-Level.
