My name is Eleanor and I have been a secondary school English teacher (teaching across all key stages) for 20 years. I am passionate about my subject and love to teach. I particularly enjoy literature and creative writing; I write in my spare time and I have published a book called 'The Truth About Teaching'. Outside of teaching, I enjoy Zumba and Pilates. I am married with two young children and have two Labradors!
I have been teaching for nearly twenty years. During my career I have taught across all the key stages. I have taught both GCSE language and literature. I have also delivered A-level including English literature, media, creative writing and general studies. At school I hold the position of second in command and I am also currently the EPQ coordinator. Previously, I been a KS3 coordinator and Assistant Director of Sixth Form - Head of Year 12. I have written and published a wealth of English resources.
As I enjoy developing schemes of work and resources, I work hard at writing lessons that are varied, engaging and memorable. I use a scaffolding and modelling approach to embed skills, although I am willing to adapt to the needs of the student. I teach online and having taught remotely during Covid and private tutoring, I have gained a wealth of techniques to teach using technology successfully. It is important to me that the student feels valued and I always bring a supportive and kind element to my teaching (as well as a little bit of humour).
