Hey everyone/Hola a todos/Hallo Zusammen! Thanks for checking out my tutoring profile. I consider myself to be an approachable, open-minded and patient person who thrives on meeting new people and hearing their stories. For me languages go hand-in-hand with my character, as they open our eyes to the world around us and allow friendships and experiences never possible before. I studied German and Spanish at the University of Manchester and have extensively travelled around German and Spanish speaking countries, including Latin America.

Tutoring Experience

With a degree in German and Spanish from the University of Manchester and TEFL Certification, I’ve dedicated the last 18 years to perfecting my craft. I bring a world of experience, having taught English to diverse groups in the UK, Germany, China, Taiwan, and Japan. I truly believe languages to be our gateway to the world. I know mainly focus on one-on-one or small groups to private intimate and intensive learning, I have helped complete beginners to advanced learners of English, German, and Spanish!

Tutoring Approach

For me, languages aren’t a hobby – they are a way of life, and I like to immerse my students into realistic situations with authentic and tailored materials.
We begin our journey with a free half-hour taster session, where I get to the route of why you want to learn the language, your previous experience/knowledge and to hear about YOUR best learning methods. I then create our lesson plans in blocks of 10, the 10th lesson is always a review of the last 10 so we can both see where your add – this is followed by specific feedback.
Each lesson will be based on a certain topic and will include reading, listening, grammar, vocabulary and speaking – and repetition, repetition, repetition until you’re a pro! I know grammar isn’t for everyone, for those who find it challenging I love to turn it into either a fun game, or an exercise such a breeze you won’t know you’re learning grammar! I also pride my lessons on being truly tailored, don’t feel comfortable with something? We can do it 10 lessons in a row until you do.
I have been there before and know how it can be, lessons with me are a safe environment where you can learn at your own pace whilst having fun using relevant language.
