Eleri

My name is Dr Eleri and I am a tutor based in South West London. I hold a Masters and DPhil/Phd from the University of Oxford where I studied English Literature.

Tutoring Experience

I have eight years experience of teaching English Literature and mentoring students at the University of Oxford. I have previously sat on admissions committees and set admissions exams. I also have experience working in welfare and counselling.

I offer tutoring and mentoring to students who are
1. Applying for university courses in the Humanities, particularly at Oxford/Cambridge
2. Looking for support with their GCSE/A-levels (or other qualifications) in English. I am familiar with all exam board specifications.
3. Seeking mentorship

In the past six months:
- All of my GCSE tutees have raised their grades by 2 bands, with several achieving 100% in their exam.
- I have supported 8 students (undergraduate and postgraduate) to get places and funding at their first choice universities.

Tutoring Approach

I love mentoring and teaching, and relish guiding students to those ‘aha!’ moments. I enjoy the flexibility that one-to-one and small group teaching provides to tailor my approach to every student’s level, needs, and desired outcomes. Students leave my tutorials inspired, knowledgeable of their subject, conscious of what is required of them, and possessing skills that they can use in other subjects/aspects of their lives.
