I really enjoy teaching and seeing a positive impact that I have on children’s development, seeing them grow and flourish in their learning. I aim to boost their confidence and self-esteem, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
I’m a fully qualified primary school teacher with 20+ years experience of teaching children in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I have been a class teacher in different year groups, SENCO for 15+ years and have experience of working with Looked After Children and pupils with a range of additional needs. I currently run my own tuition business - Next Step Tuition, and tutor children for KS1 and KS2 SATs and the 11+ entrance exam, as well as children from all primary year groups, supporting them in maths, reading, writing, spelling and phonics. I tutor home educated children during the daytime, both online and face to face. I work with children from around the UK and in other countries, offering tutoring in geography, history and science, as well as maths and English.
I am very patient and give students lots of praise to increase their confidence and self-esteem. In 20+ years of teaching, I’ve encountered children with a variety of skills, abilities and needs to which I employ different approaches to suit their learning style.
