Ella

Hello!
I'm Ella, a tutor living in North London originally from County Durham.

I'm a fully qualified secondary teacher, currently teaching English in a secondary school. I can also tutor History and Maths, having trained as a History teacher. I have a First Class degree in History from Cambridge University, and am rated as an 'Outstanding' teacher.

I am a confident, approachable educator with excellent subject knowledge and lots of experience. I can also advise on entrance exams and university interviews.

  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • MA in Classical Acting from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama

Tutoring Experience

I have three years experience teaching full time and tutoring, from KS2 to A Level, so have a good knowledge of topics across the curriculum and at all levels.

My recent English literature GCSE student had dyslexia and went from never having passed an English mock to achieving an 8 as her final grade.

I am currently tutoring A Level AQA History students, and can offer exam technique sessions.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is open, respectful and bespoke. I tailor my approach depending on the needs of the student. I can offer academically rigorous teaching, which challenges and pushes students to broaden their academic horizons, but equally can build the confidence of students by making subjects accessible.

Studying History and English should be empowering and feel urgent: these subjects teach us how to grapple with the world and have great value outside of the parameters of exams. My lessons are full of cultural capital that help form well-rounded, curious students, as well as achieving stellar exam results.
