I am currently studying MSc Translational Neuroscience at Imperial College London and have studied biology related subjects since I started at iGCSE level. I have always been enthusiastic and passionate about the sciences and hope I can pass the enthusiasm onto my students as well as help them achieve their maximum potential.
During school, I was a form tutor for pupils in their first year of school helping them get settled in in a pastoral manner as well as helping with potential homework questions. I also volunteered abroad to help integrate disabled children with the village children teaching them both physical sports activities and creative skills. Lastly, during my undergraduate degree, I partook in the 'biobuddy scheme' where last year students are paired with first year students to help them with settling in and with work load/group meetings for coursework pieces.
I believe in creating a supportive and safe environment for my students to learn, where they can make mistakes and learn from them. I believe the best way to learn is to understand the concepts behind the facts, rather than just rote-learning for exams; not only will this help my students remember things better but this will make learning more interesting and encourages them to get curious and ask questions.
