I'm a qualified EFL teacher and Psychology with Education graduate who has a passion for teaching, language development and mental and physical wellbeing. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I also love to sing, bake, and spend time with family and friends.
I have extensive teaching experience supporting students from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds, both online and in-person. My online one-on-one conversational classes have honed my ability to cater to individual learning needs, ensuring personalised and effective instruction. I have guided adults in multi-lingual and multicultural settings through pre-intermediate and upper-intermediate levels, focusing on enhancing both receptive and productive skills, including vocabulary, grammar, speaking, listening, reading, and functional language use. Additionally, my experience teaching English in Spain to students aged 5 to 28 has equipped me with the skills to prepare learners for Cambridge speaking and listening exams. In the UK, I have supported students in mainstream and special needs schools, addressing their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs, and working with individuals with ASD, ADHD, epilepsy, sight and hearing impairments, and motor difficulties. This breadth of experience allows me to offer comprehensive and empathetic tutoring tailored to the unique requirements of each student.
My teaching approach is student-centered and communicative. I ensure all my lessons have an element of speaking practice to increase confidence and fluency in every day situations. Each lesson is based on an engaging topic and develops students receptive and productive skills. I use a range of multi-modal techniques e.g. visual materials, flashcards, videos, PowerPoints and practice questions.
