Emily

Hi my name is Emily and I qualified as a teacher in 2017. I love teaching and feel so lucky to work with all the wonderful children that I work with. Every child is unique and has the potential to do wonderful things. I love seeing each child grow and reach their potential. I have a passion for working with children who have SEN and believe that all education should be suited for the individual child. I love teaching lots of subjects but I have a love for Maths; I enjoy providing resources to help children learn and succeed. Maths is sometimes seen as the ‘hard’ subject but with the correct support and guidance, it can be just as easy as other subjects. I love it when children turn around to me and say ‘this is the best lesson ever, this makes sense!’

Tutoring Experience

-I have experience teaching across all year groups, particularly year 3 and year 5.
- I have experience of the 11+ exams and have given children support through study skills groups.
- I have worked in New Zealand as well as England in SEN settings, a passion of mine.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in instilling a passion for lifetime learning into my students. I believe in teaching students with dignity, and in providing a fun, studentcentered learning environment. I make sure that every child knows that they are worthy, by listening to and caring for their needs. I work hard to create an environment that celebrates achievement and progress. I believe that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. I will assist my students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, as well embrace the differences of others.
