Hello! I’m Emily, I have been a teacher for 9 years. I am keen to use my experience and expertise to help children achieve their best. I enjoy exercising, baking (and eating) and reading.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a Primary School teacher for 9 years and have experience teaching from Early Years to Key Stage 2. I’ve taken part in a Mathematics Mastery course over the last 3 years which has been invaluable. I have also led Science through the school over the last 5 years. I am very experienced in teaching Phonics which supports children’s reading and writing.

Tutoring Approach

After an initial baseline assessment to establish gaps. I plan achievable small steps with fun, engaging activities throughout to keep children engaged. Through strong questioning skills, I’m able to pick up and address any misconceptions as I teach, whilst also stretching and challenging to allow for more critical, deeper thinking.
I have a friendly, approachable manner which allows children to feel at ease.
