My name is Emily, I am 32 years old and I am a qualified primary school teacher with Key Stage 1 and 2 experience. I studied at the University of Warwick and since then completed my teacher training in Primary education but have worked in secondary and special needs schools during the ten years of my teaching career so far.
I am enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about seeing children reach their absolute full potential.
Due to COVID 19, I am able to tutor via Zoom and have online resources to use. I am able to send work via email too if you’d like your child to complete an assessment before we start so I can address specific gaps in their learning.
I am a qualified primary school teacher who has been teaching for 10 years. In my previous experience, I have tutored children in KS2 (mostly in year 5 and 6) but I am happy to tutor children in KS1 or KS2. I am now looking for more children to help pass their SATs, or address learning gaps leading up to year 6 so they can fulfil their full potential and leave primary school with a good foundation of knowledge.
I would spend the first session with the student discussing areas of their learning that they find difficult. I would then ask the child to complete an assessment and we would together mark the answers and identify areas of strengths and weaknesses. In subsequent sessions, we would then work on the gaps from the assessments and spend some time on test style questions. I also like to use investigations, games and other fun resources to keep learning engaging and fun. This style of learning is very personalised to the child and focuses on addressing areas of development rather than going over everything in the curriculum.
