Excellent tutor. My daughter is really gaining confidence now in maths after struggling for so many years. Emily is very patient and quickly understood the needs of my child. I would thoroughly recommend.

I started tuition with Emily for my son almost a year ago. He is a very able Math student but was towards the bottom of the advanced math class. This has since improved significantly.

I was impressed with how quickly Emily built a superb rapport with him, and has been tutoring him ever since. She challenges him weekly and gets him to think in different ways to problem solve complex ideas. I chose Emily online because of her extensive education and experience in the field of maths. Indeed, she was the only math tutor I could find that actually took a degree in mathematics! We have used numerous tutors over the years and I believe she is the top of her league. In addition to her qualifications, she has worked in the State and Private sectors of education. Emily was the Head of Math at a private school for several years and most recently scored an extensive number of A*s in 2023 (impressive considering math is a compulsory subject). She gives my son numerous tips and ideas when answering GCSE math paper (higher tier) questions. I believe this is due to her extensive knowledge gained from her experience as a GCSE examiner. He is learning advanced A Level math because of his placement in the Advanced Math Class.

Due to her success with my son; I did not hesitate to select her to tutor my daughter for her Common Entrance Academic Scholarship exams (13+). Emily wasted no time in using tools to identify where there are gaps in her knowledge and then homes in to 'iron out' any flaws or missed information.

I took time to write this review because she is worth it. Words to sum up Emily: approachable, caring, friendly, diligent, conscientious, trustable. Emily is superb at her job and the epitome of hard working.

You won't be disappointed. I will not hesitate to employ Emily to tutor my third child when the time comes.

Emily was fantastic and was the significant difference for my son passing his Maths GCSE.

Firstly, Emily had a great understanding on my son's needs and competency due to her teaching background and knowledge of the exam requirements.

Secondly she gave focus and structure to the sessions which accelerated the learning and built my son's confidence in a subject where he was genuinely struggling.

I would highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for professional Maths tuition. My son had an excellent experience and I would ask Emily for further coaching support with my other children.

Emily is an amazing tutor, my daughter was getting 3’s in her mocks, Emily helped build her confidence in maths. In the 3 months she taught my daughter her grades increased dramatically. My daughter achieved a grade 5 in her final GCSE maths.

Emily is kind, patient, very knowledgeable in maths, what more can I say, she is a brilliant tutor. I would thoroughly recommend using Emily if your child struggles with maths.

Emily is a wonderful teacher. She is very painstaking and thorough. My daughter is good, but lacked confidence. After just a few sessions with Emily, she seems much happier and more engaged with her subject.

Finally getting round to submitting feedback for Emily.
I can't speak highly enough of Emily. My 15 year old Daughter had low confidence in her maths ability, and subsequently didn't enjoy the subject. In her maths GCSE mock exam she was marked as a 2. At this point I looked for a tutor and came across Emily on First Tutors. Emily connected well with my Daughter and built a great relationship which enabled my Daughter to build confidence in her ability. The weekly zoom sessions were well structured, ensuring optimal use of time. Emily prep'd in advance sending over past papers and always asked for feedback on areas my Daughter wanted to develop further. Emily was so encouraging and patient and extremely professional. My Daughter ended up with a grade 4 in Maths GCSE, only a few points off a 5. I can not thank Emily enough for helping my Daughter to believe in herself and pass her GCSE.

I sought some additional support for my daughter just a few weeks prior to taking her GCSE exams as she was struggling with her revision and lacked confidence in her own ability saying she "couldn't do Maths". I was very lucky that Emily had availability at this time and we fittied in as many sessions as we could to help with her revision. My daughter had achieved a 2 in her mocks so no miracle was promised! We have just had her results and she achieved a 5 and is over the moon. I knew when my daughter first met Emily she would be able to help, she made her feel very comfortable to ask any questions and she relaxed immediately and didn't feel silly if she found something challenging. My daughter actually enjoyed her sessions - a first for a maths lesson!
We are very grateful for Emily's support, she is genuinely interested and cares about supporting children to achieve to the best of their ability.

Emily has been tutoring my daughter in GCSE maths for just over a year now and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Emily is a superb teacher and extremely reliable - we are just sorry to be losing her as she is re-locating!

Absolutely the best thing I've ever done for my son, school wise. Emily is so friendly, nothing too much trouble and really kind with a little boy who struggles. In a few weeks he has gone up 2 sets at school and no longer cries at the word 'maths'. This lady is a God send.

My daughter is massively benefiting from the help you provide. So pleased to have found a tutor that can support her A level studies. Don't quite know where we would be without you !

I cannot recommend Emily highly enough. She has been tutoring my two daughters (age 13 and 16) in maths for only a few weeks and already both girls have improved tremendously. Emily has a great rapport with the girls and they both look forward to their sessions.

Emily has been a great teacher for my son. She has been very professional as well as being an inspiration to him. She has taught him fantastic quick shortcuts and bridged the gap for him in his knowledge.

Emily has just helped me pass my Numeracy QTS skills test. She is a fantastic teacher who is friendly and welcoming. I was very nervous about maths when i came to Emily, she made difficult topics easy for me to understand and she's improved my confidence greatly. I would recommend Emily to a student of any age. Excellent :)
