Hi, my name is Emma, I'm a full time teacher in a sixth form college.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced A level Biology teacher (11 years) working in a sixth form college. I am head of subject for year 13 biology. I have also been a successful private tutor for the last 7 years, tutoring GCSE triple science (biology, chemistry, physics) and A level Biology.

I have previously been the medics coordinator at my sixth form college, overseeing all medical school applications. I have 10 years experience getting students into university to study medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine courses.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is to ensure students understand the 'big picture' where all the nitty gritty facts fit into the key concepts of biology. Firstly I will thoroughly explain the theory and check learning with questioning and quizzing. I will bring a variety of resources, the most useful being the exam papers - after all that's what students are being assessed on at the end of their A levels.
Together we will unpick the questions, developing exam technique and improving students confidence with the exam material.
I am only offering online tuition of AQA at this time.
