Hi I am Emma and currently an AST in an outstanding high school teaching English to both KS3 and KS4. I have 18 years of experience working in a variety of positions including: leading Teaching and Learning across the academy; Head of English, as well as having 18 years of exam rubric experience.
I studied English and Media Studies at university gaining a 2:1 and carried out my PGCE in 2005. I am passionate about both subjects which is reflected in my work.
I have 18 years of teaching experience with a proven track record of success. I am able to teach across a wide variety of age ranges and can differentiate for any ability. Furthermore, as part of my role I have also worked with primary schools and helped develop reading skills in preparation for SATs. I have experience of teaching AQA and EDUQUAS, however, I have been an examiner for EDUQUAS for 15 years and therefore am an expert in exam rubric.
My approach is one which meets the students individual needs. My plans are tailored around the students according to their needs, ability and also any information gathered from current teachers. I am easy to get on with, have a good sense of humour and believe in praise and encouragement to ensure students work to their best. I have had extremely positive feedback from both students and parents who I have previously mentored. I am committed and will provide highly personalised documents to help with their ongoing studies.
