Emma

I am Emma , I am a Mum to two girls and I love history and dogs. I run my own dog home boarding business but really miss teaching so I think I would make a fun and knowledgeable tutor. I have a degree in History and a post graduate qualification in teaching. I have taught in many schools across Herefordshire both as a classroom teacher and supply teacher.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught history to all age groups up to A -level with a specialisms from The Wars of the Roses to the Cold War , although my interests range from Roman Britain to Victorian Gothic novels. I have taught English, Art and PE at Primary School level and also worked on a 1:1 basis with SEN children and children for whom English is a second language .

I would like to offer help to young people who need help with English reading , writing and comprehension or History students who need that bit of extra help with GCSE or A-Level

Tutoring Approach

My approach is friendly and engaging , I like to use as much hands on learning as possible .History should be enjoyable and accessible to all, I like to use primary sources and current historians such as Dan Jones on the Crusades . I am a huge fan of Horrible Histories songs as a great start to any new topic !
