Hi, I am Erhunse a student currently studying a masters in mechanical engineering. I achieved 100% A*(8) - A(2) GCSEs including A* Maths and A in Physics and then went on to achieve to achieve an A* in Maths and A in Physics at A-Level.
What support I offer:
GCSE Students
Maths (Edexcel), Additional Maths (OCR) & Physics support
A-Level students
Maths (Edexcel) – inc. Mechanics & Statistics, Further Mathematics (Edexcel) – inc. Mechanics (1)
NOTE: Having taken Edexcel exams, I specialise in them - if you have a different exam board feel free to get in contact with me, I may still be able to tutor you as a lot of content is shared between boards. I have access to ExamPro for AQA GCSE students
Why I tutor – TLDR: I enjoy helping people
I remember studying nuclear and particle physics for the first time during my A-level physics course; the huge jump from the GCSE-taught Bohr model to the standard model had left me hopelessly confused and I began to look to memorisation (horrible I know) to try to get a great grade. Through my teacher, I came across Richard Feynman's lectures which broke this novel concept into clear, concise parts which allowed me to gain a deep intuitive understanding of Leptons, Hadrons and their interactions.
This set of 60+ year-old lectures had a profound effect on me; I realised that intuition-based learning removes the need to memorise. As such, I aim to teach my tutees in this manner so they can improve their grades and not have to struggle wrestling these concepts like I did.
I love tutoring, over the past 3 years I’ve gained experience with helping both coursemates and students, aiding them in obtaining admission to study at various top Russell group unis including but not limited to: Imperial, Nottingham, KCL & Bath.
My approach to tutoring can be split into 3 parts:
◾ Content
◾ Exam Technique
Due to the time pressured nature of exams, I feel it is important to work on exam technique to ensure the student’s grade is representative of their understanding of the course.
◾ Resource Bank
A great saying that I feel summarises tutoring perfectly is: You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink; the most important factor that determines success is ones desire to learn, not their aptitude nor the amount of hours one studies. With sufficient independent work and a couple of hours of tutoring a week you can achieve whatever grade you feel like.
