I am a full time tutor with 9+ years of experience looking to branch out into private tutoring as my contract with the University of Edinburgh comes to an end. Maths is my passions and I firmly believe that with the right support anyone can learn it.
I am offering tutoring for university maths, high school maths or if there’s a stand alone topic that you are interested in learning about.
I tutored for the 3 years of my undergrad, both as university staff leading tutorials and one on one through volunteering, supporting the learning of my fellow undergrad students. Then, during my time in Oxford, I volunteered for the Schools plus program helping sixth form students.
More recently alongside my PhD I tutored small groups in various courses all the way from first years up to PhD students. I also supported students studying for exams during the exam period. I am always working to improve my practice, obtaining Edinburgh Teaching Award (AFHEA) fellowship and mentoring others in their application with 6 successful applicants. After my PhD ended I stayed on as a full time tutor.
The most important thing for me is to meet the student where they are. Studying math can be quite overwhelming and abstract but taking things one step at a time we can identify obstacles and gradually build proficiency and confidence.
Online sessions will be conducted via zoom using the built in whiteboard. All you need to connect is a web browser.
