Profile
I am a professional tutor and education consultant and an EPSRC Fellow with a strong academic background, having completed over 2000 hours of one-to-one tuition. My expertise lies in mathematics and physics, and I take a problem-based approach to tutoring, ensuring students grasp concepts thoroughly.
I hold a PhD in Mathematics from the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London, and I am a Qualified Teacher (QTS) in the UK. Currently, I am working on my postdoctoral degree as a researcher at Queen Mary University of London and University College London.
I have extensive tutoring experience in undergraduate and postgraduate academic tutorials in topics such as probability and statistics, R Statistical coding, Python, differential equations, linear algebra, and calculus.
I collaborate with some of the top tutoring and education consultant firms in London, and I have a proven track record of successfully preparing students for their 11+, 13+, GCSEs, and A-Levels in Maths, whether their goal is to enter independent/grammar schools or rank among UK universities' league tables. I also have extensive experience with the mathematics section of the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT), required by several international universities in Europe and the US.
UK 11+, GCSEs, A-Level and A-Level resits:
I work closely with families and students from various established academic institutions in London, i.e., Wetherby School, Portland Place School London, Kensington Park School, Francis Holland School Regent's Park, City of London School for Girls, and Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle de Londres. I have also prepared students studying for the International GCSEs and A-Levels, i.e., Stamford American School Singapore, Canadian International School Singapore, British International School Shanghai and more.
My expertise lies with mathematics and physics, while I am regularly supporting students that face challenges with programming.
I have also been regularly helping students retaking their A-Levels/IB to secure a placement in their university of choice.
IGCSEs, International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP):
I have successfully prepared numerous students around Europe (Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Spain, France, Russia and more), the UK and the world (Singapore, China, Hong-Kongfor their International Baccalaureate (IB) in both Maths SL and HL, and I have experience providing support with the Internal Assessment (IA) for mathematics. Additionally, I have supported students with programming, including Scratch for younger ages and Python for GCSEs and A-Level students.
UK University Education UG/PG and beyond:
I have assisted students in gaining entrance to top Russell Group UK institutions, such as Queen Mary University of London, London School of Economics, King's College London, University of Edinburgh, and more.
As a Teaching Associate for King's College London and Queen Mary University of London, I have taught courses in Calculus, Mathematical models, Linear Algebra, Statistics, Probability theory, and Data science modules. I am experienced in supporting students with their degrees theses (BSc, MSc), providing valuable insights, methods and data techniques.
Experience in Supporting Students with Learning Difficulties/Disabilities:
I have substantial experience working with students who encounter learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and autism. Over the years, I have been dedicated to assisting these students in developing not only their mathematical skills but also their self-confidence. My commitment to inclusive education is further underscored by my certification from the Queen Mary Disability and Dyslexia Centre as a Support Worker.
My teaching philosophy revolves around a friendly and approachable style that makes complex subjects accessible to my students. I take pride in my ability to identify and bridge knowledge gaps, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of concepts. As an independent private tutor since 2016, I bring patience, keen perception of individual strengths and weaknesses, and a wide array of mathematical tools to the table, making the learning process effective and enjoyable.
