BA Anthropology Student from University College London
Though I have not had experience teaching within academia, I have had multiple experiences working with children. Such roles include working as a swimming instructor for children aged 3-14 at Swim With Style and chaperoning mixed-aged groups at my amateur dramatics society as well as assisting in dance classes. I am currently gaining experience teaching within academia through working with a tutoring charity.
I am passionate about teaching accessibly, with strengths in explaining complex skills in tailored ways to suit diverse students, especially those not prioritised by the traditional education module. I want to provide a space for engagement in various active learning techniques that were not available to me during my A-level studies. As my journey with my schooling was disrupted by reasons outside of my control, I had to embark on self-guided innovation to catch up and achieve the grades that I left sixth form with. My goal is to provide a flexible environment to students looking to improve their understanding as I had to do. Supporting them by figuring out what ways they learn most effectively and tailoring each session to the unique ways that they learn best.
