I am a fully qualified maths teacher. I am an enthusiastic and outgoing person. I enjoy the great outdoors and I love skiing! I have a very positive outlook on life and always have a smile on my face. I enjoy meeting new people. I am very easy to get along with and have a good sense of humour. I gained a first degree in mathematics and completed my PGCE teaching training at the University of Cambridge.
I have been working as a full time teacher of Mathematics in secondary schools. I have worked in both the independent and state sectors. This has meant I have taught both very weak students developing skills to engage and work with young people who find maths difficult. I have also worked with very bright students and helping students into the top universities. I have been teaching students from age 11-18 mathematics including GCSE and A Level. I am also an examiner for 2 main exam boards marking the A Level and GCSE exams.
I believe everyone can do Maths it is all about finding the method that works for the individual. I have taught many different students over the years and it has enabled me to develop many different ways of explaining methods. I enjoy the challenge of getting everyone to understand the maths and not just be able to do it. This enables a greater level of understanding that ensures students remember the methods. I am very easy going which helps me to enthuse the students and give them lots of praise and encouragement. If I can make a student feel confident about maths then I am happy I have done my job. I have perfected my online tutoring skills and help students to work with their technology. We create virtual cue cards unique to them. All our work is saved in a shared folder and the students have all resources at their fingertips.
