Hi Sarah, I’m a private English tutor with a first class honours degree in English from Cambridge University (2021), and I have just finished an English MPhil at Trinity College Dublin.

Tutoring Experience

I have over four years of online and in-person teaching experience, including 11+ English and Maths, GCSE and A Level English Literature and Language, and ESL tuition. I am friendly, encouraging and good at motivating each of my students to perform to the very best of their ability.

Tutoring Approach

I believe increased confidence and improved grades come hand-in-hand, so my lessons work towards boosting both self-belief and academic progress. I teach using my own slides, and rely on a combination of smaller exercises and longer essay-style questions to test each student’s progress. I set small homework tasks every week, depending on the student’s time commitment. I also provide weekly reports to parents after each lesson.
