I am an experienced science teacher with a degree from Oxford University and a recent MSc in Psychology. You can also feel safe in the knowledge that am enhanced DBS checked. Not everyone loves science yet they have to do it for GCSE, that can be a rough ride. I have extensive experience teaching all sciences and supporting young people to achieve higher than expected grades, gain confidence in their abilities, and feel more positive and prepared for academic hurdles. I have taught in both the state and private sector in London including Whitgift School, together with a leading private school in Sydney, Australia. While living in USA I helped to build a STEM curriculum. I have been privately tutoring the sciences for over a decade together with mentoring young adults to make successful university choices, write personal statements, plan and write EPQs and Oxbridge Applications.
My approach is to work smarter, not harder and to help your child maximise what they are capable of. I love one on one tuition and mentoring as I get to really see and build a rapor with a student; forming a close friendship based on mutual respect and fun. I work with parents and teachers to build a support framework to consolidate school work and prepare for exams. I believe in setting goals and checking in with them and adjusting them regularly. In this way we can celebrate progress and the student feels empowered.
