Hi! My name is Freddie and I am a student currently studying computer science in my third year at the University of Sussex. I have a great passion for teaching and studying alongside my peers at university - my motivation to revise tends to come from the opportunity to teach my peers about what I have learned! I have experience teaching both peers and younger students in my personal life and as a student I know best how to teacher others in a way I would want to be taught myself. I hope you’ll consider me as a prospective tutor for whatever subject I might be needed!
I have extensive personal experience in tutoring; having younger siblings going through the same exams I once did means I am familiar with the patience, understanding and listening that comes with helping someone understand a concept to a level that they can build upon in their education. My time as team leader for a group project also heavily involved helping my teammates and teaching them computer science concepts such as C#, Github, as well as more basic pseudocode and theory while working alongside them. I have achieved consistent 2:1 grades my previous two years at university, and I believe my place as a student gives me unique insight into what a student needs from an educator that can help me to make breakthroughs and move forwards on difficult to grasp concepts.
A highly personal, friendly and student led bottom-up approach of listening to students and singling out the root of a misunderstanding before singling out a method of explanation that resonates best with an individual student in order to help them grasp a concept to a level that they can use as a foundation for further learning.
