Hi there, I am Fred, an enthusiastic 5th year medical student! Having "recently" left secondary school I understand the stresses that exams can bring. I aim to make your life easier by helping you understand and finesse the subject area that you want to be tutored in.
I have an excellent grounding in biology, chemistry, maths, statistics and physics. I aim to inspire an interest in whatever I teach and my ultimate goal is for you to do the best that you can. I will be working alongside you to help you achieve this. Sessions will be engaging and focussed on the things - your individual needs - that will enable you to get the best results possible!
I have tutored in all of the above subject areas in the past before, and I have also acted as a tutor for the university admissions process into medicine.
I have tutored at various levels - from GCSE; all the way up to A-level and have also helped teach within Newcastle University's MBBS Medicine programme.
In terms of “teacher training” I have completed a course in ‘Key Principles Underpinning Medical Education Planning and Delivery’. These principles are relevant outside of the medical sphere and can be applied when tutoring any subject.
I was successful in terms of receiving offers from all five of the universities I applied for. This required a strong: UCAS personal statement; UKCAT test score and interview “score”. This is why I am offering “university admissions” tutoring, with a focus on medical school applicants.
I achieved all A* at A-level in Biology (98% UMS), Chemistry and Maths (applied modules include statistics 1 & 2 and decision maths).
I adopt a collaborative approach with all my students. I will be working alongside you, focussing on your individual needs, in order to allow you to maximise your potential. I have a passion for all the subjects that I teach and I am not a boring guy, so sessions will be engaging!
I recognise that some people can find the tutoring process a bit daunting. I don't ever want this to be the case. I hope to make the learning process enjoyable and satisfying - with lots of progress being made in the best ways that we can find!
