I am currently living in Somerset and teach Classics in an independent school in Bristol. In the past, I taught Latin, Classical Greek, Classical Civilisation and Literature, and Philosophy from prep school to university level, published two books on Classical and modern rhetoric, and also worked for OCR as an examiner. I am active at my school's cadet forces and passionate about mountaineering.
I have been teaching and researching Classics since 2003. I have experience of teaching both Latin and Classical Greek to Common Entrance, GCSE, A-level and Oxbridge entry. Most of my students went to to study Classics at Oxbridge or Russel-group universities. A level grades for my students in the past three years have been 100% A*-B
My approach is student-centered, relaxed and motivational. I create a supportive environment with high expectations, and help my students to achieve their best using current, evidence-based teaching strategies, such as developing metacognitive skills.
