I am a qualified secondary school maths teacher and have taught GCSE and A level at a sixth form school. I have a first class honours degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from the University of Exeter and have A grades in maths, chemistry and physics at A level.

Tutoring Experience

I have fourteen years teaching experience in a secondary school. In that time I have provided 1-2-1 tuition to gifted and talented students as well running intervention classes at all levels. I have experience teaching GCSE across all exam boards and at A-Level I am confident in teaching all parts of the Maths and Further Maths courses. I have marked GCSE exam papers for Edexcel for 13 years and been a team leader for 5 years.

Tutoring Approach

My strengths are that I am calm and patient and am able to explain difficult topics in a variety of ways in order to increase the chances of the learner to understand. Marking exam papers has given me a real insight into what is required to achieve different grades and I have lots of success in passing this knowledge on to my students. I have access to past exam papers for all the different exam boards and a wide range of resources. I can set and mark homework if required.
