I currently work at Aston University as a mathematics teaching fellow. I am a senior fellow of the higher education academy showing my dedication and commitment to excellence in teaching.
Before moving to Aston, I was a mathematics teacher at Halesowen College. I specialised in teaching all a-level maths modules as well as GCSE maths.
Previously to that I was a lecturer at the University of Leicester. Before I moved to the mathematics department at Leicester I was Head of Mathematics at the University of Leicester International Study Centre, teaching all of the Mathematic courses that we offer. Before this I was studying for a PhD in Theoretical Physics at the University of Birmingham.
During my PhD I taught several undergraduate students in Mathematics and Physics at the University of Birmingham. I taught in a variety of environments from large class discussions to one on one tutorials. In addition to these lessons, I started tutoring privately a variety of A-Level and GCSE students, both Physics and Mathematics. I am now teaching Mathematics at the University of Leicester. My main experiences are in Applied and Pure Mathematics, but I also have experience in Statistics.
I like to tailor my tutoring approach depending on the student. From my experience every student learns differently, but I am a believer that students learn best from doing examples.
